T Minus 24 Hours And Counting.

August 20, 2017
Well today is the last night we spend in this apartment. Today's mission will be to fit what we can into the car, and the rest into the dumpster. I am getting ready to pack up this laptop & monitor, but before I did, I figured I would make a quick post about nothing. Were going to be taking the scenic route out this time, rather than stick to the Trans Canada. Hopefully the fires wont be kicking up too much smoke, but reports still say it's pretty hazy still along our chosen route. Either way, it should be a fun drive thru the mountains.

Catching the ferry tomorrow will be an absolute gong-show tho. We have to meet with the rental ppl in the morning to give them their keys, and get our deposit. Then try and get to Nanaimo ASAP for a 1 or 2 O'Clock'ish sailing. Otherwise we won't be getting to the mainland until 6 or 7 in the evening. The biggest problem with living on Vancouver Island, is trying to get OFF of the island. Tourists are a key factor in this. This is an INCREDIBLY touristy place, so theres times of year, and even of the DAY that are pretty much owned by the tourists. Traffic is one problem, with only 2 main ways in or out of this city, resident commuters (which there are a LOT of) get mixed in with slow driving, rubbernecking tourists. which can REALLY fuck with a drive. Then there's the ferries. Early ferries are like black friday sales, you want an early sailing tomorrow? You better go today and wait... From there, it's shit luck. You'll either get on the next one, or you won't. This time of year tho the answer is usually won't.

ANYWAYS. The plan right now is get more packing tape, boxes & crate paper to ship off the last of the books & what not that we cant fit in the car, and clean the apartment for tomorrow. Since I can only post to this blog from within the yola site builder ( I haven't really figured it all out yet) This will probly be the last entry here until this laptop comes back out of the bag either in a hotel, or in the new house. And being on ANOTHER 7 day facebook ban, I will be posting mostly to Twitter, and the FTR Fan Page with my old Ellis account.  Wish us luck :)

Cat Tales Concluded.

August 20, 2017
Well, Loudface made it in one peice, Picked up growling his usual "get me out of this fucking box" tune, by Martha's mom. After almost 17 hrs in a crate I would be pissy too. The move is going well, parting with some of the stuff today,I sold my powered subwoofer to this unwitting fella on the internet. It was a Nuance 2x10 200w powered sub in an insulated box. This thing will fuck shit up in the wrong hands. They retail for around $800-$1000 new from what I've found online. I traded an old a...

Cat Tales Pt.2

August 19, 2017
Well the cat has safely made it on his flight, and is on his way to Ottawa. Special thanks to the 2 guys at the airport. With the renovations going on, and overall confusion at the shipping desk today, these guys handled it like champs! Loudface was none too pleased (again) but he calmed down a bit when we got to take him out one last time before flight so they could X-Ray his carrier to make sure we weren't smuggling unicorn antlers or anything. So, say 15 hours from the time of this posting...

2 More days until the big drive.

August 18, 2017
So the last few days here have been pretty hectic. Between trying to prepare for the move, upload fresh music to the stream, answer emails & do the social networking thing, we have also had to prepare a cat for flight. (Were not drivign across the country with a Cat AND Dog in the car. Thats just crazy) Capt Loudface, is a 17lb shorthair beast of a cat that DOES NOT LIKE travelling. He was flown out here by my girlfriends mother (its actually her cat), and she will also be covering his flight...

New music up, "New setup" working fine.

August 13, 2017
So i've uploaded close to 11 hours of new racks to the stream. A lot of really cool Canadian groups, and some kickass stoner/ doom metal that i've been listening to for a while now. I really like getting the music from Bandcamp. I'm finding STELLAR Canadian groups & all kinds of other amazing talent that I just wasn't getting from youtube or any of the other "Music Services". And this way I'm putting most of that money right in the pockets of the artists. So yea, I got nothing but good things...

Broadcast Yourself Here On Freethink Radio

August 12, 2017
If you, or anyone you know wants to do a live show of any kind 1 time, weekly, monthly, DAILY?! It's not that hard to make happen. Using 2 simple (and free) programs, I have been able to go live from pretty much anywhere I can get WIFI, on almost any of my devices. The first, for the PC, is a program called "Mixxx Broadcaster" (see links below) It's open source, and has never let me down. And for my Android devices I use this handy app called "Broadcast Myself". It has a free version that I u...

Ready for the move.

August 12, 2017
9 days from now, we will be picking up HQ and moving back to Ontario. It has been a pretty fun 3 years being back in Victoria, but it's east we go! Hopefully I will pick up a few new tunes along the way, I always check out local gig flyers & upcoming shows when I'm making stops on the road. I will also be doing some random broadcasts and videos along the way as well. So make sure to check the Youtube channel, Facebook page & Twitter regularly to keep up to date. It will be a 5 to 7 day ordeal...

This is Freethink Radio

August 12, 2017
Well hi, I'm Dr Ellis. I both own & pull all the strings here at Freethink Radio. When freethinkradio started in 2010ish, it was a "Truther" site, with many live hosts doing 8 to 10 live shows per day. It was quite something, and for a while it was working. Then the shitstorm started & FTR went dark for a couple years, and now I'm back with it. Minus the help of the original co-founder, Blings, as he has begun his own music ventures at www.methodofmyown.com. So what I do here now is a variety...
